Birthday card for a 2 year old.

I was asked by one of my friends if I would make a birthday card for her grandson's 2nd birthday.  He likes Thomas the Tank Engine and could I add a baby in a crib somewhere as he is getting a little brother or sister in a couple of months.  The crib was just a step too far, so I added a baby's pram, couldn't think of any other way of combining.

Christmas Card

I haven't blogged for ages, been busy making Christmas cards and pressies.  This year most of my pressies are handmade or hand baked, so I had really set myself up for a busy time, but I can now relax as all is done in the paper craft front, just two arran jumpers to knit before Christmas day.

This is a couple of christmas cards I made, which I absolutely love.  This year I have kept my cards all white, clean and uncluttered.  I received an Ebosser for my Christmas which of course I had to test before xmas in case it didn't work.

Birthday card for a line dancer

I was asked to make a card for a 60th birthday, the lady loves line dancing.  Not being a line dancer myself I had to do some surfing to find some information, the flags down the side of the main topper are line dancing steps.

The main image is a MayzyArt digi stamp which I took into Craft Artist and made a border for the bottom of the card.  http://mayzyart.blogspot.com/2012/11/two-new-stamps-from-mayzyart.html.

I am really happy with the card and hope the recipient enjoys it.

Bling It Up Challenge

3 projects I completed for Aly's Crafty challenge  Bling It Up.    http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/groups/335678713185312/ which is open till the end of November.  As part of the Design Team my efforts can now be published.

First one is a tag, made using a birdcage cut from the cricut (Straight from the nest), Marianne design tree and flower dies, loads of feathers and gems.
This notebook started out as the one on the left, i covered it with Stampin Up paper, used the TH tattered flower to cut out some material, then stamped the spoons and cut out.  The Notes tag is a Marianne die.

This is a wall hanging completed using jigsaw pieces cut from the Cricut ( My Community).  The paper is DCWV The all about Girls stack, shoes and crown are cut from the cricut and the handbags are peel offs, I didn't have a handbag on my cricut.  The metal embellishments are 7 gypsies which i got for a bargain on my last trip to New Zealand.

I hope you will consider taking part in this challenge

Christmas has started

This is a snack tray I altered for a challenge with UKATC, the theme was red, green, gold, silver and Christmas.  The Santa is a Molly Bloom coloured with my Copics, the tree is an Anna Griffin embellishments.  The recipient loves owls so I could not resist putting a Hunkedory topper on the front.  I stopped myself from adding anything else to it.

                                                                     Inside front cover

Halloween Artist Trading Card

My attempt at a Halloween ATC, love this stamp set, which is by Lindsay Mason, there is a great text stamp in it which says "things are unravelling" which i think is great.

I used TH distress stains, and then black soot ink over a brick wall mask, used the Inspiration Jar stamp from The Artistic Stamper and coloured in with my copics.  The ticket is from Whimsey stamps courtesy of That Craft Place (thanks Lisa). I don't really do Halloween, but decided to give it a go for a challenge on Running with scissors

Artist Trading Cards

I have taken a liking to doing artist trading cards, at first I thought they were too small and fiddly, but now I am really enjoying them and have joined a few swap groups.  Here are a few samples of some I have completed and swapped

Favorite color - very girly for me

Words of Wisdom, this is one of my favorite stamp sets

Time, I seem to have a bit of an obsession with clock faces, have them in everything

Shabby Chic

Gingham

And finally, Memories, again using that favorite stamp set, this time as an easel ATC

Reason for absence

First of all apologies for not posting for some time, I have been on holiday in New Zealand seeing my beautiful great neice.

Monday, 3 September 2012

I've just with the help of my sister had a major tidy up, clean out in my craft room, so thought i would share some pics, not quite finished the whole room is yet to be decorated.  The stamps are going on shelves once the room is decorated.  It's hard to believe but I actually have empty drawers!

Back to School

I am delighted to be part of Aly,s Crafty Challenge design team, the first challenge was "Back to School".  I used a Molly Bloom stamp, coloured with copics, the papers are Basic Grey and the little stickers were just something i bought some time ago and knew they would come in handy sometime.

See link to challenge and feel free to join in   http://www.facebook.com/groups/335678713185312/

Retirement Card

I've done this card for my sister, who after many years is retiring, she has been a shorthand typist / personal assistant for many years and like a lot of us has seen the move from typewriters to computers but still during all this time she still uses shorthand.  I hope she likes it.

Something a bit different

I'm trying my hand at digital scrapbooking, i fear it may become addictive.  This is a picture of my neice in New Zealand who was born in February this year and saw her first snow in June.

Twice in one day

Here's another card i have just finished for a challenge, Ihave had these papers for ages, it's funny how eventually everything has its uses.
This is a tag to go in with a pressie for a friend.  I just absolutely adore this stamp, it is one of 2 in the Off the Wall set by LIndsay Mason, love it.

It's been a long time since I last posted

I don't know where the time is going, I seem to be busy but with little to show for it.  Anyway a couple of cards I have made recently for various challenges.

Friends 50th birthday project

Good morning all, thought i would share with you a project i have been working on for some weeks on and off.  I am going to Chelsea Flower Show this week with 3 of my friends, to celebrate one of them turning 50.  So i thought i would do her a really special project, she is keen on handbags, so have made a chipboard handbag.  I have done pages for the inside but left spaces for pictures.  I do hope she likes it.  When i have added the pictures i will let you see it.

Just to prove

I thought it was about time i showed a card suitable for a female, as most of my previous posts have been for males.  The stamp is from the new Lucy Cromwell papermania collections, when i first saw it I thought it was too girly girly for me but i really love it now.  Hope you like this card

Ssssshhhhhh...

This is my husbands birthday card, but ssshhhh.... its not until next week so he hasn't seen it yet.  He has a classice beetle which he adores so thought this nostalgia stamp set was ideal.  I also used masking tape to make the border underneath the main image and stamped volkswagon beetle all the way along it and then distressed with TH distress inks, never tried this idea before but really like it.

Another birthdat card

I don;t use my Cricut nearly enough, so challenged myself to make a card with it, it's not my usual standard but not bad for a first attempt.  Note to self, must try and use cricut and gypsy more often.
